Dr. Hamal has over 15 years of experience in journal editing and publication. He previously served as the Assistant Editor of the Journal of Nepal Health Research Council (JNHRC), and also Executive Editor of the Journal of Nepal Medical Association (JNMA). He is a scholar member of the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) and a member of the Asia Pacific Association of Medical Editors (APAME). Currently, Dr. Hamal holds the position of Assistant Dean for Academics and External Affairs at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Kathmandu, Nepal. He is also an Associate Professor and Senior Consultant Anesthesiologist in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Management at NAMS, based at the National Trauma Center, Kathmandu. In addition, he is a former Joint Secretary of the Society of Anesthesiologists of Nepal (SAN) and has authored numerous publications in both national and international journals.

Dr. Baral is an excellent academician and clinician with over 15 years of experience in anesthesiology and critical care. He currently serves as Professor and Coordinator in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Baral has remained actively involved in clinical research, particularly interested in anesthesiology, critical care, and airway management. He has authored and co-authored more than 25 scientific articles published in various indexed national and international medical journals.
In addition to his academic and clinical roles, Dr. Baral is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Society of Anaesthesiologists of Nepal (JSAN), where he contributes to the growth of anesthesiology research and professional development in Nepal. His commitment to academic publishing and medical education continues to strengthen the field of anesthesiology both nationally and beyond.
Professor Dr Asha Thapa

Dr. Asha Thapa is a senior faculty member in the Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics unit at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal. She joined Bir Hospital in 2005 and has been actively involved in postgraduate training since 2011.
In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Thapa has made significant contributions to medical publishing. She served as the Assistant Editor of the Post-Graduate Medical Journal of NAMS (PMJN) from 2019 to 2023 and has been serving as Editor since 2024.
Throughout her editorial tenure with PMJN, Dr. Thapa has played a key role in promoting the dissemination of high-quality research. She works collaboratively with fellow editors and peer reviewers to maintain rigorous editorial standards and support the advancement of scientific knowledge in the medical field.
Associate Professor Dr Kunjang Sherpa

Dr. Kunjang Sherpa is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Cardiology at NAMS. With a strong commitment to academic medicine and professional service, Dr Shepa holds multiple leadership roles, including Executive Member of the Nepal Medical Council, Joint Secretary of the Society of Internal Medicine of Nepal (SIMON), Executive Member of the Cardiac Society of Nepal, and General Secretary of the Faculty Doctors Association at NAMS.
Dr. Sherpa is a distinguished fellow of several prestigious international cardiology organizations, including the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), and the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology (FAPSC).
His previous academic and editorial roles include serving as the Editor of the Nepalese Heart Journal, Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, and holding executive positions in both SIMON and the Cardiac Society of Nepal.
Dr. Sherpa has published 38 scientific articles in various national and international journals, contributing significantly to the advancement of cardiology and internal medicine in Nepal. His expertise in clinical cardiology and dedication to academic publishing continue to impact the medical community at both national and international levels.
Associate Professor Dr Ramila Shilpakar

Dr. Ramila Shilpakar is a dedicated medical oncologist committed to advancing cancer research and enhancing access to quality oncology care in Nepal. She holds an MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine, along with a DM in Medical Oncology.
In recognition of her contributions to oncology, Dr. Shilpakar was selected for the prestigious Editorial Fellowship of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in 2020. She currently serves as a member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Clinical Oncology: Global Oncology, published by ASCO.
Dr. Shilpakar’s ongoing work in cancer care and academic publishing reflects her strong commitment to evidence-based practice, editorial excellence, and the continuous improvement of oncology services, both in Nepal and internationally.

Dr Ishfa Banu Haque is an Associate Professor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit at the Department of Dental Surgery, Bir Hospital, NAMS. She brings extensive experience in clinical care, academic teaching, and research, contributing significantly to the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Nepal Health Research Council. She actively supports scientific publishing as a peer reviewer for several national and international journals. Her professional interests include surgical procedures, academic mentorship, and research. Dr. Haque is committed to promoting evidence-based practices in dentistry and surgery while upholding excellence in scholarly publishing and peer review.
Associate Professor Dr. Deepa Kumari Shrestha

Dr. Shrestha is a pulmonologist who completed her postgraduate training at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. She has been serving in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Bir Hospital, under the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Kathmandu, Nepal, for over three years and currently holds the position of Associate Professor.
In addition to her clinical and academic responsibilities, Dr. Deepa is actively involved in research and scholarly publishing. She has been serving as a reviewer for the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at NAMS for the past 1.5 years and also contributes as a reviewer for Respiratory Medicine Case Reports.
With 13 publications in national and international journals, Dr. Deepa has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing respiratory medicine through research and evidence-based practice. She is enthusiastic about academic activities and brings her dedication and expertise to her editorial role at the Post-Graduate Medical Journal of NAMS (PMJN).
Dr Prajwala Yogi

Dr. Prajwala Yogi is a dynamic and dedicated early-career researcher with a strong background in academic publishing and clinical research. Her involvement in editorial work began during medical school, and she has since accumulated valuable experience in journal management, including her role as Managing Editor of the Journal of the Nepal Medical Association. She also served as a Clinical Research Officer at the Nepal Medical Association, contributing to several research initiatives.
Currently, Dr. Yogi is affiliated with the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), where she serves as a Member of the Secretariat in the Research and Development Department. She has authored 10 publications in national journals and remains actively engaged in promoting research culture among emerging health professionals. She regularly conducts training sessions and workshops aimed at medical students, young graduates, and research enthusiasts, covering essential topics in research methodology, scientific writing, and publication ethics.
Dr. Yogi’s comprehensive experience spans research coordination, manuscript editing, peer review processes, journal management and academic mentorship—making her a valuable contributor to Nepal’s growing research community.

Mr Siddhartha Dhungana

Mr Siddhartha Dhungana is an experienced biostatistician with over 15 years of expertise in data analysis, statistical modelling, and public health research. He holds an MSc in Statistics from Tribhuvan University and an MS in Bioinformatics and Applied Statistics from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
He currently serves as a Senior Medical Recorder Officer at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Kathmandu, Nepal, and also works as a Lecturer of Biostatistics. In addition to his academic and technical roles, Mr Dhungana is an Editor of the Post-Graduate Medical Journal of NAMS (PMJN).
Mr. Dhungana is a national trainer for ICD-11 and has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and scientific workshops. He is proficient in statistical and analytical tools including R, Stata, SPSS, and LaTeX. His work supports high-quality research and data-driven decision-making in medical science, reinforcing the role of biostatistics in evidence-based healthcare.
