Attitude Regarding Artificial Intelligence among Nursing Students in a College

Abstract

Introduction: The term Artificial intelligence means a part of computer science that allows it to interpret, manipulate and comprehend natural human language. It helps in prediction, decision making based on data. It can be used for various purposes: individualized learning, assists students in solving educational problems, critical thinking. The objective of this study was to find out the level of attitude of artificial intelligence among nursing students.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 213 nursing students in Bir Hospital nursing Campus to find out artificial Intelligence. Data was collected by using convenience sampling technique. A self-administered 5-point Likert scale was used for data collection and the data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 22 and interpreted in the form of descriptive statistics.

Results:The study revealed that majority (72.8%) of the respondents had positive attitude of Artificial intelligence. Almost all of the respondents (97.7%) had used artificial intelligence. About 41.8% disagreed that using artificial intelligence for routine tasks. Over one-third of the respondents (36.6%) agreed that they are interested in using artificially intelligent systems for my daily nursing tasks.

Conclusion: This study revealed that the majority of the nursing students had positive attitude towards Artificial intelligence. The result of the present study showed that nursing students being agreed to adopt AI as a learning and supportive tool that enhance academic learning.
